History

Rose quartz was used by many ancient civilisations but the first uses were in Rome and Assyria, where it was worn as jewellery and carved into talismans. Egyptians were one of the first civilisations to believe the stone had magical properties and it was said the stone would keep you looking youthful. According to Greek mythology, the goddess of love, Aphrodite, accidentally cut her self while trying to save her love, Adonis. Her blood then stained a quartz, creating rose quartz.
