Hey there Magic Makers,
It’s been a while since you last heard from us, so I wanted to take a moment to share where life has taken us since closing the Sparrow & Fox doors a few months back.
After the challenging process of packing up the business, saying goodbye to our special Magic Makers met along the way and shipping so many of our Magical goodies and creations to new loving homes, our family hopped on a plane for a Big European Family Adventure.
We soaked in a thermal river in Iceland, went on a ghost tour in Edinburgh, ate too many croissants in Paris, reached the high mountain peaks of Chamonix, explored the ruins of Rome, Ferried our way across the Mediterranean sea, ate our way through Barcelona, wandered until our legs gave up in London and caught many, many trains. Five weeks of constant movement — it was incredible, exhausting, magical and everything in between.
While away, I’d hoped for one of Oprah's big “aha!” moments, an inspirational bolt of clarity about what comes next for both Me and Sparrow & Fox, but it didn’t quite happen that way. What I did realise, though, is that my heart and creative spirit are still deeply tied to this work — I just need to learn how to weave it into my life, rather than let it be my whole life.
Since returning, we’ve been offered a side quest. We will be teaming up with some long-time friends and suppliers for a new project we will be referring to as the Crystal Supplier Clearance Event. They’re moving to a new premises and need to downsize, which means there is a huge range and quantity of stock that needs to go before the big move. After all the experience we’ve gained in clearing, condensing and reorganising, it felt right to jump in and help out.
Each Tuesday we’ll be heading to their warehouse to enter as much stock online as we can (think of it like the old Drop Days!), then packing and shipping from our space Wednesday to Friday. It’s a nice change of pace — productive, social, and full of crystal energy again. This isn’t a forever thing, more of a little adventure between chapters, but it feels good to be back at work in a way that’s lighter and more straightforward for now.
As for Sparrow & Fox itself — I’m still dreaming, planning, and figuring out what the next version looks like. The ADHD Aquarian in me has about 5,000 ideas raring to go, but the reality is, I will be running the future biz solo.... With those two things being polar opposites, I’m just sitting with it for now and will let it take shape in its own time.
I would love to bring Earthly Aromas, Swearomatherapy, and The Witches Pantry back gradually — slowly, slowly — as I find my rhythm again. When I’ve got a bit more control of things (and life in general), I’ll start adding some creative elements back in.
In the meantime, I’m still here, working quietly behind the scenes and enjoying this new collaboration. The first Crystal Supplier Clearance Event stock drop goes live 14th October, and we’ll also start returning any remaining S&F stock to the website at reasonable prices over time.
